Nahal Alexander is a nature reserve centered on a perennial coastal stream, offering a peaceful escape just minutes from Netanya. Visitors can hike or bike along well-marked trails that wind through lush riparian vegetation, with frequent opportunities to spot migratory birds and the reserve's famous soft-shelled turtles basking on the banks. The park is especially popular in spring when wildflowers bloom, and the gentle water flow makes it a favorite for family outings. Distinctive features include the turtle nesting sites and the juxtaposition of freshwater habitats against the nearby Mediterranean coastline.

Don't miss

  • Spot soft-shelled turtles along the stream banks, especially near the information center
  • Hike the shaded, flat trail that follows the Alexander Stream from the reserve to the beach
  • Birdwatch from the wooden observation hides during spring and fall migration
