The Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter, situated on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee near Tabgha, commemorates the post-resurrection appearance of Jesus to his disciples. According to tradition, Jesus appeared here, cooked fish on a charcoal fire, and asked Peter three times, 'Do you love me?' (John 21). The simple Franciscan church, built in 1933, features a rock-cut altar and a large boulder known as 'Mensa Christi' (Table of Christ), where the meal is said to have taken place. Visitors can enjoy the quiet lakeside setting and reflect on the biblical narrative.
