Beth Alpha is an ancient synagogue located in the Beit Shean Valley, renowned for its remarkably well-preserved mosaic floor featuring a zodiac wheel with Helios at its center. Dating to the 6th century CE, the site offers visitors a chance to see intricate depictions of biblical scenes, seasonal symbols, and Jewish motifs. The synagogue's small size and intimate setting allow for a close-up view of the mosaics, which are protected by a modern shelter. Visitors can walk around the excavated ruins and imagine the vibrant community that once worshipped here.
