The Hospitaller commandery of Saint-Jean-d'Acre is a massive Crusader fortress complex that served as the headquarters of the Knights Hospitaller during the 12th and 13th centuries. The site features impressive underground halls, including a grand refectory and dormitories, all built with robust stone vaults. Visitors can walk through the cavernous chambers, which have been excavated and restored, gaining insight into the daily life and military organization of the order. The complex is distinctive for its scale and state of preservation, offering one of the best examples of Crusader military architecture in the Levant.
