The Murrough Wetlands, situated along the coast near Wicklow town, is a protected nature reserve encompassing salt marshes, freshwater marshes, and sandy beaches. This area is a haven for birdlife, especially during migration seasons, with species such as Brent geese, oystercatchers, and curlews commonly seen. A network of walking trails, including a section of the Wicklow Way, allows visitors to explore the diverse habitats. The reserve also features a long stretch of beach, ideal for a bracing stroll.
