Lismore Cathedral, officially St Carthage's Cathedral, is a Church of Ireland cathedral located in the heart of Lismore. Built on the site of a 7th-century monastic settlement founded by St Carthage, the current building dates mainly from the 17th century, with a striking Gothic revival spire added in the 19th century. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful stained glass windows, a medieval tomb, and a collection of historic artifacts. The cathedral is still in use for worship and is a peaceful place for reflection. Its location near the Blackwater River and Lismore Castle makes it a convenient stop on a walking tour of the town.
