Doolin Cave offers a unique underground experience in the heart of the Burren region. The main attraction is the Great Stalactite, a colossal 7.3-metre-long formation that hangs freely from the cave ceiling, recognized as the largest of its kind in the world. Visitors descend via a spiral staircase into a vast chamber where the stalactite dominates the space, illuminated to highlight its intricate structure. The guided tour provides insights into the cave's formation over millions of years, the discovery process, and the delicate ecosystem within. Above ground, the visitor centre features exhibits on cave geology and local wildlife, plus a café and nature trail. The cave maintains a constant cool temperature, so a jacket is advisable year-round.
