Curraghchase Forest Park is a sprawling natural haven located just outside Adare, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in woodlands, meadows, and a tranquil lake. The park features well-marked walking trails that wind through mixed forests and open spaces, making it ideal for hikers, joggers, and families. A highlight is the picturesque lake, where you can spot swans and other waterfowl. The park also contains the atmospheric ruins of Curraghchase House, a 19th-century manor that was once the home of the poet Aubrey de Vere. Though the house is now a shell, its ivy-clad walls and grand staircase evoke a bygone era. Picnic areas and benches are scattered throughout, inviting you to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. The park is particularly beautiful in spring when bluebells carpet the forest floor, and in autumn when the foliage turns vibrant shades of gold and red.
