The Battle of Dayr al-Jamajim was a decisive engagement in 701 AD near Kufa, where the Umayyad caliphate crushed a rebellion led by Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn al-Ash'ath. Today, the site is a flat, dusty plain with few visible remains, but its historical significance is marked by local memory. Visitors can walk the ground where thousands fought, imagining the clash of armies that shaped Umayyad rule.
