Bayn al-Haramayn, meaning 'between the two sanctuaries,' is the broad, marble-paved avenue linking the Imam Husayn Shrine and the Al-Abbas Shrine. This open space is a focal point for pilgrims, who walk between the two shrines as part of their devotional journey. Lined with stalls selling religious souvenirs, food, and drinks, it is always crowded with worshippers, especially during Muharram and Arbaeen. The area is illuminated at night, creating a reverent yet lively atmosphere.

Don't miss

  • Walk the entire stretch between the two shrines, observing the flow of pilgrims.
  • Browse the stalls for religious items, dates, and local crafts.
  • Experience the area at night when it is beautifully lit and especially atmospheric.
