The Atabegs of Yazd site preserves the crumbling remains of a medieval fortress that was the power center of the Atabeg dynasty, who ruled the region from the 12th to 14th centuries. The complex includes remnants of thick defensive walls, arched gateways, and a central keep, all built from mudbrick and stone. Visitors can wander through the ruins, imagining the fortress's former grandeur, and observe traces of ancient water channels and storage rooms. The site offers a glimpse into Yazd's pre-Safavid history and the region's strategic importance.

  • Walk along the remnants of the massive defensive walls.
  • Explore the central keep and its underground chambers.
