Hajj Agha Ali Mosque, built in the 19th century under the Qajar dynasty, is a gem of Islamic art in Kerman. Its interior is a shimmering spectacle of mirror mosaics (ayneh-kari) that reflect light across the prayer hall, while the facade and minarets are covered in floral and geometric tilework in blue, turquoise, and yellow. Visitors can step inside to see the ornate mihrab and pulpit, and observe the interplay of light on the mirrored surfaces. The mosque remains an active place of worship, so respectful attire is required.
Don't miss
- Gaze at the ceiling's intricate mirror mosaics that create a starry effect
- Study the Qajar-era tile panels with floral and arabesque motifs
- Observe the carved stone mihrab and wooden pulpit
