Pura Taman Saraswati is a Hindu water temple honoring Dewi Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music, and arts. Built in 1952, the temple is renowned for its large lotus-filled pond that reflects the surrounding frangipani trees and carved stone shrines. Visitors enter through a split gate and cross a bridge over the pond to reach the inner courtyard, where intricate reliefs depict scenes from the Ramayana. The temple also hosts occasional dance performances on its pond-side stage, blending spirituality with artistic expression.
Don't miss
- Photograph the iconic lotus pond with the temple's meru towers rising behind it.
- Cross the stone bridge and examine the bas-relief carvings along the temple walls.
- Check for evening dance performances held on the stage overlooking the pond.
