Ampera Bridge is Palembang's most recognizable landmark, a towering drawbridge that connects the city's two halves over the Musi River. Completed in 1965, its central span can be lifted to allow large ships to pass, though this is now rare. Visitors love to walk or drive across for panoramic river views, especially at sunset when the bridge is illuminated.
