The Babak River is one of Lombok's longest rivers, flowing from Mount Rinjani to the west coast. Its lower reaches near Mataram feature lush vegetation and a relaxed atmosphere. Eco-tourists come for guided river treks, where you wade through clear water surrounded by tropical forest. Birdwatching is rewarding, with kingfishers and eagles commonly seen. The riverbanks are dotted with small waterfalls and swimming holes. It's less developed than other Lombok attractions, offering a raw natural experience away from crowds.
