Swami Pushkarini is a sacred water tank situated on the Tirumala hill, adjacent to the famous Venkateswara Temple. According to tradition, the tank was created by Lord Venkateswara himself for ritual bathing. Pilgrims believe that immersing in its waters purifies the soul and is an essential prelude to darshan. The tank is surrounded by a stone pathway and pillared corridors, with steps leading down to the water. A small shrine dedicated to Varaha (the boar incarnation of Vishnu) stands nearby. The atmosphere is tranquil, with devotees performing prayers and offerings along the ghats.
Don't miss
