The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and the holiest Shiva temples in India. Nestled in a narrow lane of Varanasi's bustling old quarter, the temple draws millions of pilgrims seeking liberation. The current structure was built by Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar in 1780, with its iconic gold spire donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Visitors experience intense devotion, the ringing of bells, and the chanting of mantras. The temple's sanctum houses the revered lingam, and the atmosphere is electric with faith. Nearby, the Gyanvapi Mosque stands adjacent, reflecting the site's layered history.
