Kala Bhavan, the fine arts faculty of Maharaja Sayajirao University, is both an academic institution and a museum of art. The building itself is a work of art, with Indo-Saracenic architecture. Inside, the museum displays a rich collection of paintings, including works by Raja Ravi Varma, Mughal and Rajasthani miniatures, and contemporary Indian artists. Sculptures, both ancient and modern, are also on display. The atmosphere is creative and inspiring, with students often seen sketching in the galleries.
