Jivakarama vihara is an archaeological site in Rajgir that was once a thriving Buddhist monastery. According to tradition, the Buddha resided here and was treated by his personal physician, Jivaka, who built the monastery for the sangha. The ruins include a large hall, cells for monks, and a stone water tank. Visitors can walk among the excavated foundations, envisioning the monastic community that lived here over two millennia ago.
