The Jhansi Cantonment Cemetery is a quiet, walled burial ground dating from the British Raj. It contains the graves of British officers, soldiers, and their families who died during the 1857 Indian Rebellion and later. The weathered headstones, some with poignant inscriptions, stand in neat rows under shady trees. Visitors can see the grave of Captain William Pinkney of the 12th Native Infantry and other memorials.
