Jaganmohan Palace, built in 1861 in Hindu style, served as the royal residence of the Wodeyar dynasty before the current Mysore Palace was completed. Today, it houses the Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, one of South India's finest collections. Visitors can admire a vast array of paintings, including masterpieces by Raja Ravi Varma, traditional Mysore gold-leaf paintings, and European works. The palace itself features ornate ceilings, stained glass, and intricate woodwork. The gallery also displays musical instruments, antique furniture, and artifacts from the royal era.
