Gajalee Restaurant is a must-visit! Their tandoori crab and bombil fry are absolutely delicious. Every seafood dish I’ve tried has been fresh and full of flavor. If you're a seafood fan, this place won't disappoint. The vibe is great, and the food is even better – definitely worth a visit!
I have been visiting Gajalee since 1999 and rate it as the best seafood joint of Mumbai. To me their signature dish is the bombayduck fry and nobody makes it like them. The tandoori crab is also a family favourite for us. And their clam in coconut and coriander curry is lip smacking. We also favour their mutton curry. Try all these with the Marathi bread made with rice flour. The dessert section is yumm. I have visited their outlets in Andheri East, JVPD, Andheri West (now closed) and Pune. However, the Vile Parle outlet is the best and the original one.
I've been to the Ville Parle one and that is far superior in terms of taste though it does not as much of a high street décor as the one in Palladium
Superb food - try in particular the tandoori pomfret that melts in the mouth, the mutton dum biryani and the bombil fry. Topped with their delicious home made chutney. Works equally well in a delivery or take out format. Highly recommended.
