Kumbhalgarh is a formidable hill fort in Rajasthan's Aravalli Range, renowned for its 36-kilometer-long defensive wall, the second longest continuous wall on Earth, after the Great Wall of China. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the Hill Forts of Rajasthan, it offers visitors a chance to walk along ancient ramparts, explore palaces and temples within its 13 fortified peaks, and enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. The fort's remote location and massive scale make it a standout among Rajasthan's historic strongholds.

Don't miss

  • Walk sections of the 36-km-long wall, which is wide enough for eight horses to ride abreast
  • Visit the Badal Mahal (Cloud Palace) for sunrise or sunset views over the Aravalli hills
  • Explore the fort's intricate temples and stepwells, including the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple
