The Thanneermukkom Bund is a concrete and earth barrier built in 1974 to prevent saltwater intrusion into Kuttanad's paddy fields during summer. It stretches 1.4 kilometers across Vembanad Lake, with a road on top and a pedestrian walkway. Visitors can drive or walk along the bund, stopping to watch boats pass through the lock gates. The structure offers panoramic views of the lake, backwaters, and distant hills. It's a functional piece of infrastructure that has become a popular spot for photography and breezy walks.

  • Walk the 1.4-km bund for sweeping views of Vembanad Lake
