Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park is a 72-hectare ecological restoration site on the rocky hill below Mehrangarh Fort. Once a barren, invasive-species-choked landscape, it has been transformed into a sanctuary for indigenous desert plants. Visitors walk along winding trails through cactus gardens, dry riverbeds, and rock formations, spotting species like khejri trees and desert gourds. The park provides a peaceful escape from the city and stunning views of the fort above, making it a unique place to understand the Thar Desert's resilient ecosystem.

Don't miss

  • Walk the main trail through restored desert scrub and see native cacti, euphorbias, and acacia trees.
  • Visit the small nursery where local species are propagated for restoration projects.
  • Enjoy panoramic views of Mehrangarh Fort from the upper rock outcrops.
