Hole In The Wall, located in the vibrant city of Hyderabad, India, offers a unique charm that attempts to blend a casual cafe vibe with a contemporary dining experience. While it holds a decent 4.1-star Google rating and a 4.0 on TripAdvisor, the ambiance is described as average, with some reviewers noting a lack of cleanliness that detracts from the overall experience. Diners can expect a variety of vegetarian options and a menu that features Italian and contemporary cuisine. However, customer feedback indicates that the dining experience can vary significantly, with some praising the hot chocolate and pancakes while others criticize the service and food presentation. Overall, it’s a place that appeals to those looking for a casual meal but may leave some diners wanting more.

I visited the Hole-in-the-Wall Cafe in Hyderabad, and I must say the experience was disappointing, especially compared to the vibrant and well-maintained ambiance of its Bangalore counterpart. Firstly, there was no manager or staff to greet us or guide us to a table, leaving us to figure out the seating on our own. Once seated, the state of the cafe's cleanliness was appalling. The walls had visible mold, and the entire space felt filthy and neglected. The tables were not cleaned properly, and even the areas under and around them were unkempt, adding to the overall discomfort. When it came to the food, it was plated poorly, almost carelessly. Given the prices, we expected a bit more attention to presentation, but it was clear this was not a priority. To make matters worse, the coffee machine was out of order—a serious flaw for a cafe that promotes itself as a coffee spot. The coffee we did have was far from satisfactory and did not live up to any expectations. Overall, the entire experience was unpleasant, from the lack of management to the unappetizing food presentation and the cafe's poor hygiene. It's a shame because the Hole-in-the-Wall Cafe in Bangalore sets such a high standard with its excellent management and great atmosphere. We were sorely disappointed by the Hyderabad location and hope they make significant improvements.

Food options wise - for vegetarian lunch I felt the choices were limited - sandwiches/burgers/breakfast menu/ some other options not so attractive options. Whatever food comes, It’s pricey and just right for one person (mildly hungry person). Food tastes good and their hot chocolate (it’s lil thicker, and I like that) and passion fruit iced tea (not too sweet with just the right mild flavours) were great options to go with your breakfast/lunch menu. Triple chocolate pancakes had 3 stacked pancakes, served with lots of delicious chocolate sauce. Not too sweet, just the right amount. That dish alone can fill you. Service - Slower, even when we had just 5-6 people in the restaurant. Funnily enough, they forget the documented sides with your food sometimes (plz check menu if everything mentioned with the dish, actually comes). Atmosphere - Average and the usual European vibe, weirdly positioned tables (if it’s just two people).

My Husband had Rio Chicken and I had a side of meatballs.. We were Charged “Split charge” Which I don’t eat cream sauce which I DID’NT eat.. The others did split.. asked our waiter and he basically said that’s how it is.. So beware that’s how they up charge eveyone.. and make $20.00 plus tip on upcharge of each couple!! ;)

The salad was really good. My hubby had the white wine and I had the red wine and I loved it. My hubby’s lasagna was cold when it first came out in the middle, which led us to believe it was frozen and reheated resent it back and when it was brought back, it still was not hot. He said that my lasagna is 100 times better. The atmosphere is awesome and the waiter was delightful. Value for the money not so much. But it was not a total disappointment. Ohhhhh and the cappuccino that comes with your meal is definitely not a cappuccino. It is a hot chocolate from a package that you add hot water to. We didn’t even bother to drink it.
