Makkah Masjid is a historic mosque in Hyderabad, constructed between 1617 and 1694 under Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. Its name derives from the belief that bricks were brought from Mecca to build the central arch. The mosque's grand prayer hall and courtyard can accommodate up to 10,000 people. Built from local granite, it features intricate carvings and a large pond. It remains an active place of worship and a major landmark near Charminar.
