Keoladeo National Park, also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, is a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Spread over 29 square kilometers, this man-made wetland and woodland ecosystem attracts over 370 species of birds, including the endangered Siberian crane during winter. Visitors can explore the park on foot, bicycle, or cycle rickshaw, following a network of trails that weave through grasslands, woodlands, and marshes. The park is also home to mammals like nilgai, sambar, and wild boar. Its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site underscores its global importance for avian conservation.

Don't miss

  • Spot the rare Siberian crane during winter months (November to March).
  • Take a cycle rickshaw ride through the park's diverse habitats for close-up bird sightings.
  • Visit the Keoladeo Temple within the park, dedicated to Lord Shiva, which gives the park its name.
