Jama Mosque in Agra is a grand congregational mosque commissioned by Jahanara Begum, the eldest daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan. Constructed in 1648, it features a striking blend of red sandstone and white marble, with three imposing domes and two tall minarets. The prayer hall is adorned with intricate geometric patterns and floral motifs carved into the stone. Unlike many other Mughal mosques, it lacks a central courtyard, instead having a large open space in front. The mosque remains an active place of worship, and visitors can experience its spiritual ambiance while admiring the craftsmanship. Its location in the heart of the old city makes it a key stop on any Agra heritage walk.
