Hallgrímskirkja is a landmark Lutheran church in Reykjavík, renowned for its dramatic expressionist architecture that resembles basalt lava flows. Visitors can ride an elevator to the top of the 74.5-meter tower for sweeping views of the city and surrounding mountains. Inside, the church features a minimalist interior with a large pipe organ. The statue of explorer Leif Erikson stands in front, a gift from the United States.
