Helgafell is a 340-meter-high volcanic mountain located just outside Hafnarfjörður. Visitors can hike to the summit on well-marked trails, passing lava fields and moss-covered rocks. The climb takes about an hour and rewards with sweeping views of the surrounding peninsula, the Atlantic Ocean, and on clear days, the Snæfellsjökull glacier. The area is also home to diverse birdlife and unique volcanic formations, making it a peaceful escape into nature.
