Pécs Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, stands on a site that has been sacred since Roman times. The current Romanesque structure dates largely from the 11th and 12th centuries, with later Gothic and Baroque additions. Its four towers dominate the city skyline. Inside, visitors can admire the ornate altars, frescoes, and the treasury museum. The crypt, one of the oldest parts, contains Roman sarcophagi and medieval carvings. The cathedral remains an active place of worship and a key historical landmark.
