Buda Castle is a sprawling Baroque palace that dominates the Buda skyline. Originally built in the 13th century, it was rebuilt after WWII and now contains two major museums: the Hungarian National Gallery (featuring Hungarian art from medieval to modern) and the Budapest History Museum (covering the city's past from Roman times). Visitors can also stroll the castle courtyards, enjoy views over the Danube, and ride the historic Castle Hill Funicular.
