The Basilica of Our Lady of Suyapa, located in the Suyapa neighborhood of Tegucigalpa, is one of the most important religious sites in Honduras. Built in the 20th century, it houses the revered statue of the Virgin of Suyapa, the country's patron saint, which was discovered in 1747.
