Gomier is a small, agricultural neighborhood perched on the hills surrounding Jérémie. Visitors come to experience authentic rural life: walking along dirt paths between plots of plantains, yams, and coffee bushes, while farmers tend goats and chickens. The air is fresh and cool, and the views over the valley toward the Caribbean Sea are expansive. It's a place to slow down, chat with locals, and appreciate the self-sufficient lifestyle that defines much of Haiti's countryside.

Don't miss

  • Walk the terraced hillside farms and see plantain, yam, and coffee cultivation
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the Jérémie valley and distant sea from the upper slopes
  • Observe traditional livestock raising, including goats and chickens, in a pastoral setting
