The Grand Mosque of Conakry stands as a monumental symbol of Islam in Guinea, dominating the skyline with its twin minarets and large central dome. Completed in 1982 with support from the Saudi government, the mosque can hold up to 10,000 worshippers. Visitors are struck by its scale and the intricate geometric patterns adorning the exterior. Inside, the prayer hall is simple yet grand, with chandeliers and carpeted floors. Non-Muslims are welcome outside of prayer times, offering a glimpse into the country's predominant faith.
