Volcán San Pedro is one of the three iconic volcanoes overlooking Lake Atitlán, rising to 3,020 meters (9,908 feet). The hike to the summit takes about 3–4 hours and passes through cloud forest and coffee plantations. The trail is steep and can be muddy, but the reward is a breathtaking 360-degree view of the lake, the other volcanoes, and the patchwork of villages below. Many guided tours start from San Pedro La Laguna, and the hike is best done early morning to catch clear skies.
Don't miss
- Summit viewpoint with panoramic vistas of Lake Atitlán and Volcán Tolimán
- Cloud forest trail with diverse birdlife and lush vegetation
