The Iglesia y Convento de las Capuchinas is a former convent for Capuchin nuns, founded in the 18th century. Its most distinctive feature is a circular tower that once served as a novitiate, with a central courtyard and small cells around the perimeter. Below ground, a series of narrow, dark cells with tiny windows were used for solitary prayer and reflection. The site also includes a beautiful garden and a small museum with religious art. The ruins convey the strict, contemplative life of the nuns.
