The parish of Carriacou and Petite Martinique encompasses two sister islands in Grenada's southern Grenadines. Carriacou, the larger, features rolling hills, white-sand beaches like Paradise Beach, and the historic town of Hillsborough. Petite Martinique, just a short boat ride away, is a tiny volcanic island with a single village and a strong fishing tradition. Together, they offer a tranquil escape with excellent snorkeling, sailing, and hiking. Distinctive cultural events include the Carriacou Regatta and the Big Drum dance, which celebrate the islands' African and Caribbean heritage.
