Lithakia is a quiet seaside village on the southern coast of Zakynthos, known for its expansive sandy beach that serves as a nesting ground for loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta). As part of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, the area is carefully managed to protect these endangered creatures. Visitors can enjoy swimming in clear waters, sunbathing on the soft sand, and observing marked nesting sites during the summer months. The village itself offers a few tavernas and accommodations, making it a relaxed base for exploring the south coast.
