Ancient Thera is an archaeological site perched on the rocky Mesa Vouno ridge, 396 meters above sea level. Founded in the 9th century BCE, it was continuously inhabited through the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods. Visitors can explore well-preserved structures including temples, a theater, houses, and public buildings, all set against stunning views of the Aegean Sea.
