Located on a small islet between Paros and Antiparos, Saliagos is a significant Neolithic site dating to around 4000 BC. Excavations have revealed foundations of stone houses, tools, and pottery, indicating a thriving fishing and farming community. The site is accessible via a shallow channel from the Paros side, though the ruins are sparse and require imagination. What makes Saliagos distinctive is its role as one of the earliest known Cycladic settlements, predating the famous marble figurines. Visitors come for the historical significance and the remote, windswept setting with views of the surrounding sea.
