Midea is a lesser-known Mycenaean acropolis perched on a hilltop, featuring massive cyclopean walls and remnants of a palace complex. Unlike the more crowded sites, Midea offers a quiet, contemplative experience. Visitors can climb the ancient ramparts and explore the foundations of storerooms and living quarters. The summit rewards with sweeping views of the Argive plain and the Gulf of Argolis, providing a sense of the strategic importance of this citadel in the Late Bronze Age.

Don't miss

  • Walk along the cyclopean walls, built with massive limestone blocks
  • Explore the palace ruins and see the remains of storage rooms and corridors
  • Take in panoramic views of the Argive plain and Nafplio in the distance
