The Church of Panagia Paraportiani, meaning 'Our Lady of the Side Gate,' is a cluster of five churches built over centuries, with four chapels at the base and a fifth atop them. Its dazzling white exterior and irregular, cubist-like form make it one of the most photographed religious sites in the Cyclades. Located in the Kastro neighborhood, it overlooks the sea. Visitors can admire the intricate stonework, step inside the main chapel, and appreciate the serene atmosphere amid the bustling town.

Don't miss

  • Observe the unique architectural blend of four lower chapels supporting a fifth
  • Step inside the main church to see the carved wooden iconostasis and icons
  • Stroll the surrounding narrow streets for classic Mykonian white-and-blue views
