Trypiti is a small, traditional settlement perched on a hill overlooking Milos's western coast. Its narrow lanes and whitewashed houses lead to two major archaeological sites: the Catacombs of Milos (one of the most important early Christian burial complexes in Greece) and the well-preserved Ancient Theater of Milos, carved into the hillside. From the village, visitors enjoy panoramic vistas of the bay and the island's volcanic landscape. Trypiti itself has a quiet, authentic atmosphere with a few cafes and tavernas.
Don't miss
- Panoramic view over Milos's western bay and the Aegean from the village edge
- Ancient Theater of Milos, with seating for about 7,000 spectators and excellent acoustics
- Catacombs of Milos, a network of underground tombs dating from the 1st–5th centuries AD
