Kastraki is a picturesque village located just a few kilometers from Kalabaka, nestled directly beneath the dramatic Meteora rock formations. Known as a haven for rock climbers, it offers over 500 climbing routes on the sandstone pillars, ranging from beginner to expert. The village itself retains a traditional character with stone-built houses, narrow lanes, and a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the monasteries perched above, hike to nearby caves, or simply relax in a local café. Kastraki provides a more serene alternative to bustling Kalabaka.
