The Lesche of the Knidians was a rectangular building near the Castalian Spring in Delphi, built by the people of Knidos in the 5th century BCE. It served as a gathering place for conversation and socializing, but its fame rests on the now-lost paintings by the renowned artist Polygnotus. These murals, described in detail by ancient writer Pausanias, depicted the Sack of Troy and Odysseus's visit to the Underworld. Today, only the foundation of the building remains, but visitors can stand where one of antiquity's greatest art works once adorned the walls.

Don't miss
