Actium is the ancient promontory that gave its name to the historic battle, now a quiet archaeological zone. Visitors can walk among the foundations of the Temple of Apollo Actius, which once housed the cult statue and served as a landmark for sailors. The site also includes remnants of the Roman camp and a small museum displaying artifacts from the battle era. The atmosphere is contemplative, with the sea breeze and distant islands providing a backdrop for reflection on the ancient struggle for power.
