The Ottofelsen is a massive granite outcrop rising dramatically from the forested slopes of the Harz mountains, just south of Wernigerode. This natural landmark is a favorite among hikers and rock climbers, offering several climbing routes of varying difficulty. The rock itself is a striking sight, with its weathered surface and unique shapes formed over millennia. From the top, climbers and hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Harz landscape, including the Brocken peak on clear days. The area around the Ottofelsen is crisscrossed with well-marked hiking trails, making it accessible to casual walkers as well.
