The Hockenheimring is one of Germany's most famous racetracks, located just 15 kilometers from Speyer. It has hosted the Formula One German Grand Prix numerous times, as well as the German Motorcycle Grand Prix and other major events. The track is known for its long straights through the forest and the challenging Motodrom stadium section. Visitors can take guided tours of the paddock, pit lane, and grandstands, or experience the track themselves during public driving events. The on-site museum, the 'Hockenheimring Museum', displays historic race cars and motorcycles. There's also a kart track and a driving experience center. Even on non-race days, the circuit buzzes with activity, from track days to corporate events. For motorsport fans, a visit to Hockenheimring is a pilgrimage to a shrine of speed.
